Focal Point

Now that Republicans have control of Congress, they seem to have lost focus.  [More]
I disagree. They know exactly what they're doing.

If they can sabotage Trump's administration and engineer its failure -- without overtly standing against him and having to own it -- they can come back to the voters and say "See what happens when you think you know better than we do?"

They'll be counting on the average voter to look only at the manipulated results, not at their hidden intrigues that caused them.

Is this a valid criticism? If any other Republican had been elected, congressional Republicans would have lost focus anyway. It’s just what Republicans do. The istake is in assuming that the election of Trump was ever going to solve the Republican attention span problem in the first place.

Go down to Fred Barnes on Harris County, TX. The GOP is scared of changing demographics. When will the NRA become scared?
