We're the Only Ones Renaming Enough

The new sheriif uses different terms for undocumented immigrants. He calls them "guests." [Watch]
You mean for "illegal aliens"...?

It figures that would be revealed in a story about this traitor taking the oath.

Everybody knows why he won, right? And who pulls his strings?

"Maricopa Strong" my ... eye.  Dance, puppets, dance.

And yeah, I grok some of you don't like Sheriff Joe. May I presume you don't prefer little wooden head here?

Sadly he does not mean that they are "guests" of his jails..... going to be an interesting 4 years. Especially given the left leaning democrat mayor of Phoenix who wants to run for governor in 2018.

This year's elections were only one round.. many more to go....

Yes, as a 60 year (lifetime) resident of Maricopa County I said GOOD RIDDANCE to "Sheriff Joe".

GOOD RIDDANCE to his mideivel "restraint" chairs that killed a couple of people.

http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/dead-end-6438519

GOOD RIDDANCE to the 10's and 10's and TENS OF MILLIONS of $'s of legal costs and settlements relating to NEEDLESS deaths (of minor at worst criminals) and other shenanigans.

If that is the benefit of arresting an illegal immigrant now and then I'd say the citizens of Maricopa County finally got on the right side of that equation.

Last I heard the Maricopa County Sheriff can't arrest an illegal immigrant for the crime of being here illegally. (To his credit there were a couple of prosecutions for identity theft.)

Nor does Maricopa County have a border with Mexico.

So I'm not sure just exactly what benefit or not a pro or anti illegal immigrant Sheriff has here exactly.

GOOD RIDDANCE to a Sheriff whose department IGNORED 1000's of sexual assault cases. I'm sure those women were happy to be ignored so Joe's deputies could stop Mexicans with broken tail lights.

Now I voted for Trump and I want him to build the wall.

But I also want a Sheriff in Maricopa County that isn't going to grandstand for political purposes, that is actually going to go after real criminals. And isn't going to foster this type of attitude in his jails

I challenge anybody to read - all of them - the above 2 articles.

If you can still claim that the citizens of Maricopa County made a poor decision getting rid of Joe then I pity you and I sure as hell don't want to associate with you.

For you David, I've already taken The Captains Journal off my reading list because he called me "delusional" for contesting his portrayal of Joe as the "countries BEST sheriff".

I hope I don't have to do that here too.

Because, no matter what we elected in Maricopa County, he can't be worse than Joe.

If that's your solution to disagreements, I say don't let the door hit you in the ass.

Herchel called me "delusional".

That is certainly not a way to respond either I would say.

Or is it ok to call people that disagree with YOUR assessment of Joe "delusional" as Hershel did to me, but not to afford the other party - me - the only option I have to respond to that, that is the decision no longer to be a patron of someone capable of giving such a response?

Now, just exactly what do you think of the decision by Maricopa County voters after reading the above 2 articles?

Do those of us who think Sheriff Joe isn't the BEST sheriff ever have no reasonable claim to think that maybe an illegal immigrant coddling sheriff might still be a better choice.

Or is this "only one" someone immune from criticism because he pretended to be doing something about illegal immigration?

Address what I actually asked. And threaten someone else about taking your ball and going home.

If you prefer a Soros stooge helping to bring in"pathway to citizenship" anti-gun voters, I don't particularly give a damn if you "don't want to associate with" me.

You disappoint me David.

Evidently there are some "only ones" that can get a pass even from you.

Door closes.

Sounds like Scott may very possibly be one of those transplants moving out of the "paradises" they created & needs to go back to Kali... or Joisey. I wonder if the WHAAAAmbulance runs from Phoenix to Baker. When I was but a wee anonymous the old man used to tell me that sympathy can be found in the dictionary... between shit & syphillis.

You ARE delusional.

An overdose of cross-talk here...

The two articles from Scott about Arpaio raise serious issues.

David doesn't care for the way Arpaio was deposed, nor the new guy's position on illegals.

Yes, the Democrat Feds mau-maued Arpaio. But it was way past the point where someone had to.

However you felt about Joe’s policing, he was a filthy campaigner. He’d routinely use confidential information against anyone who dared to run against him, and if the chalenger was particularly upstanding and had no skeletons in his closet, then slander would have to do. Like McCain, who has the same steel grip in this state, he was impossible to primary out, giving the voters a permanent turd sandwich choice. There were plenty of superior conservative alternatives over the years, but the ego of these guys just wouldn’t let them pass the torch.

The only way to get rid of somebody like that is to vote for the opposition, then unseat that freshman in the next election. It didn’t work for McCain, but it did for Arpaio. People like Arpaio and McCain don’t do their party or their constituents any favors. If we don’t call our own dirtbags out, how are we different from progressives?

Odd... I would not consider anyone that entered my home uninvited and then adamantly stayed when ordered to leave as my "guest". They definitely do not receive hospitality.
