Strangling Liberty

Eric Holder's Bank Intimidation Continues to Choke Out Firearms and Ammunition Dealers [More]
Katie Pavlich looks at the fingers clutching at the financial throats of gun and ammo dealers.

I'd like to see some of our congressional oversight people demand they quantify the risks with unbiased, audit-validated numbers. And tell them to turn over all related correspondence and emails.

Speaking of Utility

Kurt deconstructs a tale told by a useful idiot. [More]

Between inserting devices into herself and basing her entire shtick on Alinsky Rule 5 snark (that's not half as clever as she presumes it to be), this Murcotte character is a phenomenally unoriginal, rude and crude bore.

‘Vigilantes’ with ‘illegal guns’ do to Boko Haram what government cannot

That means the villagers who defended themselves from the terrorists were not just “gun criminals” using “illegal guns," they also qualified for one of the Big Lie pejoratives “progressive” anti-gunners use to disparage armed self-defense: They were also “vigilantes.” [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes, all the lies and laws notwithstanding, only determined people with guns actually have a chance to stop the violence.

The Contentious Program

Yeah, gee, I wonder why. [More]

Maybe Jeh could shed some light.

All the News Santa Barbara Gun Owners Need

There are no worries of Santa Barbara gun owners finding out about Sheriff Bill Brown's anti-gun extremism.

Just check the news feed and see for yourself.

As far as most will ever know, the guy is OK. And they'll reelect him.

Just Following Orders

That'll teach her to defy a Nazi-era law. [More]

I had to deal with stupid, petty and power-drunk city bureaucrats in another life. You can see how just a little bit of power goes to the heads of small-minded proto-mandarins, and it's no wonder that more power translates into more abusive egotists for those clerks who go on to become "officials." Many of them -- who reveled in the power they wielded over permitting and demanded submissive acquiescence to their petty aggressive attitudes -- deserved to be publicly flogged just on general principle.

Stupid Is as Stupid Does

And that's pretty stupid. [More]

If only they'd disarm you and me.

Request for Assistance

I received this Facebook appeal message:
Looking for any stories preferably with video of legal firearm owners defending themselves with firearms in Ca. & as much as possible specific to S.F. bay area. Have a reporter with pretty big name offering to potentially do a story on it when I get him vids. Any help or ref.s you may have will be greatly appreciated...
My thoughts are they are not likely to find all that many DGU stories in that region due to anti-gun laws, including near-impossibility for anyone who is not connected to get a concealed carry permit.  Still, there are some. I'm surprised a  "big name" reporter wouldn't have the research savvy to start here, but I guess that's the difference between "Authorized Journalists" and #justablogger.

Anyway, if you know of any other resources or stories, please educate us via comments, and I'll pass the link to this post along to my correspondent.  I'd like to see what "offering to potentially do a story" means.

I would caution if you have a personal story, make sure your attorney says it's OK to share it.

UPDATE: Video here.   That took a minute.  I have to believe a "real reporter" could find other source material.

Risk Management

Gee, I wonder what Prozi policies contribute to that "greater risk"? [More]

With mandated vulnerabilities like those, who needs false flags?

Prozi Logic

Award-winning investigative journalist, Audrey Hudson, had her home raided by armed federal and Maryland-state agents, who used an unrelated search warrant on August 6 to seize documents she'd legally obtained in a Freedom of Information Act request. [More]
Which is why Prozis believe government agents are the "Only Ones" who can be trusted with arms, and endorse an unchallengeable state monopoly of violence!

Thank You for Your Service, You Domestic Terrorists

Sgt. Dan Downing of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department: You are some kind of tale-spinner, aren't you? [More]

They didn't have modern weaponry when you first started?

And you do know gun-related violence has gone down?  But that most people don't realize it thanks to hysteria ginned up by police state opportunists like you?

So, it stops at gas stations, does it?

You Win. Now Fork Over

“But with the funds Feld is receiving, we urge the company to combat the killing of tens of thousands of elephants for their ivory,” Pacelle said in his statement. [More]
As has been demonstrated to anyone willing to see for themselves, the "Humane Society" is anything but.  As with all things Prozi, every day is Opposite Day. The ruthless, blackmail-style pressure they bring to bear on conservation charities to not accept contributions from hunters actually works against their advertised mission and creates a devastating and wholly unjustifiable extinction threat to endangered species.

A Piece of the Action

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I) said Sunday that a gun violence campaign he’s launching will be focused on regulation instead of gun control or bans... [More]

Ah, yeah, the old response to JoJo Krako.

Thought you guys had laws. No Infringements.

Who's infringin'?  We're regulatin'.

UPDATE: Workman gets a piece of the action.

Yeah, In Re This Bateman Character

He's discovered that if he writes something obnoxious about gun owners it rewards him with massive hits.  I'm not going to help him get them.

The best way to shut him down is ignore him.  It's not like the hive minds that agree with him aren't already lost.

Unintended Consequences

A Predictable Response

That certainly tracks with the last sentence.

Gee, I wonder what Amy will do.

We're the Only Ones Getting an Earful Enough

The son of a deputy at the Anson County Sheriff's Office found his father's service revolver and fired one round hitting the top of his left ear according to the Anson County Sheriff. [More]
I saw the same terminology in other news accounts as well, and questioned the reporter, copying the sheriff's office:
Just trying to clarify something in re your report: They still issue/use revolvers instead of semi-automatic pistols?
Her response:
This is the quote I paraphrased from the press release from the Anson Co. Sheriff's Office: "Anson County Sheriff Tommy Allen said today that the son of a deputy found his father’s service revolver and fired one round that struck himself (the child) in the top of his left ear."
I'm still wondering, and I'll let you know if the sheriff replies.

What They Teach These Days

The victim told police that she did not struggle or say anything because she had been previously a victim of sexual crime, and has taken classes teaching her not to struggle as it could cause further injury, according to records. [More]
Sorry, but if I were on a jury and this was the totality of the evidence, I'd have reasonable doubts.

Judging Amy: The Fix is In

A federal judge said Thursday that she is leaning toward allowing President Barack Obama's claim of executive privilege in Operation Fast and Furious, the failed law-enforcement operation at the center of a congressional investigation and subpoena fight between the Justice Department and House Republicans. [More]

"Failed"?

Why, because they got caught instead of getting a new federal "assault weapon" ban?

Note when they have something to gloat about, the AP suddenly thinks it's a story.

Yes, Gomer. You may say it now.

Yeah, I Kind'a Figured

It was the rain. [More]

This is what I thought but reserved comment on. You just don't do this, that is, unless you want to give the Prozis plenty of Alinsky Rule 5 fodder.

How did the organizers not know this would be the outcome? And knowing that, why would they proceed with the totally detached-from-reality claims?
