Dead in Oregon. For Now.

2013 Session Ends. All Anti-Gun Bills Are Dead. The 2013 Legislative Session has ended. I can recall no session where the efforts to strip you of your liberties were more intense...Do not underestimate how remarkable that accomplishment is. And make no mistake, your activism is all that stood between us and a total loss of our gun rights. [More]
Meaning now is not the time to relax, it's the time to regroup and replenish, and to prepare for the time when the dead will rise and attack again.

Start by doing that here.

Dismissed

The Center for Biological Diversity lost its lawsuit against the US Forest Service because they wouldn't ban lead ammo. [More]

I was feeling all peaceful until I saw this video. [More]

Now I want to riot.

Good grief, that was awful.

Of course, I'm not doing anything wrong.

Am I?

New Energy: Vicki Kawelmacher

After her daughter was nearly abducted, Vicki opened The Women’s Shooting Academy to “educate, encourage and empower” women. The firearms instructor strongly believes every woman is responsible for her own personal safety, and offers free classes to any woman with a signed protective order. [Watch
I really enjoyed this video. What differences there are between confident armed women cherished by secure men, and the helpless, vacuous cud-chewers who dress their unprotected offspring up like  livestock.

And isn't it something that there are actually those who call themselves "men" who would deny women that choice?

What the hell is wrong with those losers, aside from a pathetic need to have the government force everyone to be just as inadequate as they are?

FISA head judge doesn’t understand gun rights, either

While focused on the power Walton now has over privacy rights and more, it’s also important to understand where he stands on the rest of the Bill of Rights, and, of special interest to this column’s readership, on the Second Amendment. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes a tendency of the controlling class: If they don't respect one right, chances are others that don't comport with their worldview will also be disregarded, ignored, infringed upon and generally despised.

And yes, of course this is "single issue"-related.

Read and share.  These guys work their butts off every day to bring us stuff we don't get anywhere else, and it needs to be disseminated.

For all the complaints about bias in the media, an alternative is provided. But it won't gain wider attention unless you help spread the word.

Concealed

This is the story of the struggles women face to overcome insecurities, fears, users and abusers. The paths taken as they discover independence, self-empowerment, and faith. It is not an endorsement of a particular brand, type, style, or caliber of handgun, but of the proper education and use of a firearm and the personal choice to legally carry a concealed handgun. However, that choice is not the main focus of the book. This is the story of women, of friends, of family, of faith. [More]
I was asked to review this book, but my plate is just so full there is no way I can commit the time it would take to give it the focus such a request deserves. So the best I can do is just pass along the information to those of you who will be intrigued by the premise, and trust you will let others know what you thought.

Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times, it's enemy action.

The Rookie’s Guide to Guns and Shooting, Handgun Edition

From author Tom McHale, via email:
I just wanted to give you a quick heads up that our new book, The Rookie’s Guide to Guns and Shooting, Handgun Edition, launches today. It’s free from Amazon.com today and tomorrow (July 9-10) so be sure to grab a copy.

Here’s the direct link.

If you don't have a Kindle, no worries, Amazon offers free reader apps for iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets and any computer. All I ask is that, if you like it, just leave a review on Amazon.com.
Seems like a more than fair request.  And, as they're the target readership, you might want to pass this info on to any rookies you know before the window of opportunity closes.
