Bloomberg in Open Armed Rebellion Against Federal Government

I have my own army in the NYPD, which is the seventh biggest army in the world. [More]
Oh really?
No State shall, without the Consent of Congress...keep Troops...in time of Peace...
Assuming that also applies to cities within States, I call on the federal government to invade New York, disarm these unconstitutional troops and arrest their commander in chief.

And seeing as how this flies in the face of the supreme law of the land, the militia should be called out to put down this insurrection, as is our duty...

  • Hour 2: "American hero, combat medic and author, Patrick Thibeault…Gotta love the hero’s!  Later in this hour, noted women’s firearm expert and trainer, Kathy Jackson."
  • Hour 3: "The Roundtable.  Kathy Jackson sticks around and grabs a seat with firearm expert George Hill, the Mad Ogre, Mark and Sean.  Topics all over the map, emails, current events, etc!  A fun one. Enjoy!"

And tell your friends about this show, every Sunday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm Eastern/ 5:00 to 8:00 pm Pacific. It brings essential information you won't get anywhere else, and the thought just struck, it could be especially useful for gun owners who don't read blogs.

Gun Rights Examiner earns Sunday headlines in Arizona Republic and WorldNetDaily

“Project Gunwalker” was front page headline news in today’s edition of The Arizona Republic...In another development, WorldNetDaily, the very highly-trafficked news website, is featuring a report on Gun Rights Examiners Chore Boy/silencer story as its main headline this morning. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column does a little crowing. Maybe that's why I've got laryngitis, and Mark Walters will need to do tonight's Gunwalker update on Armed American Radio without me.

Something to Consider

With all those out there (some very well heeled) quick to use Gunwalker in their fundraising appeals (even though they have done practically nothing in terms of original work on the story, and the most prosperous ones have even discouraged recognition of those who have), isn't it refreshing to see someone who has been working around the clock to break new ground and pushing himself to mortal limits--someone of modest means who often can't say how the next bill will be paid--asking his supporters to stop sending money?

What better testament to character?

For the DC trip, OK--but in general principle, those who receive regular value should return it.  Some time ago I proposed a very doable monthly voluntary subscription to SSI--a buck a month. If just a fraction of Mike's readers did that, he'd be compensated along the lines of, say, a bus boy.

Hopefully, no one of conscience thinks that's asking too much.

3,000?

Bob Owens posts on a theory I've heard before, that Fast and Furious was less about "gun control" and more about playing sides with the cartels as part of a greater strategy. [Read]

It's not that I'm hostile to that line of thought--I'm interested in the truth. It's just--as I have told proponents of it--that none of my sources have offered this explanation, so I can't endorse it until I get something more directly credible than a defendant offering a desperate defense.

I guess I'll need to see what documents result from this to test against the hypothesis.

But to be clear: the initial "padding statistics" charge on Gunwalker came not from any "right wing bloggers."  It was first made on CleanUpATF by one of the posters whom ATF's Chief Counsel's Office and Ken Melson had discussed applying standards of conduct disciplinary action against. Make sure you click on the sidebar graphic there to see the emails for yourself.

Bottom line: If a definitive US government/cartel cooperative effort is established, it would add a new dimension to--but not negate--the "more gun control" theory.

This Day in History: November 15

At the muster of November 15, 1779, for example, the number of men in the corps was supposedly 613, but of these 74 were dead, 19 were prisoners, 25 had taken their discharge, 30 had been transferred, probably as recruits to the British Army, and 113 were deserters. [More]

It's a Dirty Job, But Someone's Got to Do It

Well, not dirty, but certainly tedious.

I've updated Vol. 7 of the Journalist's Guide with everything from yours truly and Mike Vanderboegh, with additional related efforts by Gun Rights Examiner colleagues Dave Workman and Kurt Hofmann.

Chronicling the development and unfolding of this story is important. Anyone who has not spent time in this and the previous volumes has missed key information.

Click here for  the current volume with updates from Nov. 6 to the present.

Hotmail Hacked

Avoid any suspicious emails from my Hotmail account.

I've talked about this before but the consensus was it was merely spoofing and was not directly tapping into my computer.

This time, others in my address book are getting spam purporting to be from me and failed delivery notices come back to me.

I did a full scan on McAfee and also Malwarebytes and it showed clean, and both of those are up to date, so I'm assuming it's a Hotmail issue...especially as it's not taking over address books from my LiveMail, Yahoo and GMail accounts.

Somehow It Won't Surprise Me...

...to learn that this is your and my fault. [Watch]

In a way, it is.

Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.

‘Conservative’ case for Mitt Romney no case at all

Because elections are typically decided by a few percentage points, and a critical mass of gun owners simply will not hold their noses and vote for the guy.  In spite of the cajoling, in spite of having future Supreme Court nominees held over our heads, in spite of accusations that those who refuse to chip in to procure the campaign whore du jour being pimped by devoid- of- principle party apologists will bear responsibility for whatever politically transmitted disease follows. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner commentary offers the simplest of solutions: It's called integrity.

We're the Only Ones Establishing a Pattern Enough

Altogether Savage has been the target of 22 internal investigations and has had 30 findings of misconduct--everything from conduct unbecoming, to insubordination to inappropriate use of authority.
While patrolling Vashon Island in 2009, Savage racked up so many complaints the Sheriff’s Office moved him off the island after just nine months.

“I don’t think it’s possible to understate how fearful these folks were,” said Vashon Defense Attorney Steve Mueller. [More]
So he's a domestic terrorist? And he's not too bright, either? I mean, people do some pretty desperate things when they're "fearful."  Especially when the source of that fear is, all things considered, a fairly easy target if they decide to control and channel their feelings into something else...

This one got me:
One of the recent cases involves a complaint that Savage told a teen he could sexually assault her with a pen and she couldn’t stop him.

If some fat f*** thug threatened one of my children this way, I'd be tempted to find out if the pen truly is mightier than the sword...

Good Lord, That Was Painful to Listen To

Basically because it really sucks. [More]

But it also confirmed something those of us of not sleeping already knew about demented intentions of latter day domestic Bolsheviks.

Men Men Men Men, Manly Men Men Men!

A neat trick that, passing judgment on gun owners and men without consulting either...
The opening paragraph tells you all you need to know about the dishonest bias of this premise:
Guns are in the news every day in our society. They're the weapon of choice in countless "routine" homicides and mass murders. Motorcycle gang shootouts. Armed robberies. School shootings. Domestic violence rampages. Guns are a staple of our entertainment culture, a critical part of the story line in a seemingly endless number of TV shows, Hollywood films and video games. They're also the subject of ongoing and often acrimonious political debate. Guns -- and the violence they either inflict or seek to prevent --- are a major presence in our individual and collective psyches.
I guess citing even one potential instance where guns might be beneficial doesn't fit what they're trying to do here.

And what are they trying to do here?

Aside from the usual regressive subversion we've come to expect from anti-gun males, it would appear a good bit of posturing to mask the truth about themselves...

A Nothing Day

Had to drive and accompany a parent to a medical procedure, just now getting back, speaking of which, mine hurts from a bit of labor I did earlier, so the hell with it for today.

Just got invited on the Ron Smith Show, WBAL Baltimore to talk Gunwalker with guest host Marta Mossburg tomorrow morning at 10:35 Eastern.

In the mean time, I have to say I was a bit disappointed at how low the interest apparently is in this, page view and social media sharing-wise, especially considering what it's for and how it's in all of our interests to make the event a media success.  You who are regulars here--I assume that's because you perceive you get recurring value from the work--if so, how about lending a hand and helping spread the word?

Unless you feel the "Authorized Journalists" adequately represent our concerns and there's no need for a counter-balance...?

Am I Missing Something?

Am I reading this right?  Support a candidate who won't disclose where she stands on RKBA? [Read]

Really?

I have to be totally missing the point here, because the only thing I'm getting from this is that freedom is a "social issue," and if Caren Merrick commits to being pro-gun, the antis will use it against her to scare voters.  So gun owners need to volunteer to help her campaign.

The officers and privates composing the rifle corps under the command of Major Parr, are all to join their respective regiments. The Major will see that all the rifles and their proper bullet moulds &c., are collected and numbered to prevent their being mixed or seperated, and have them then delivered to the Commissary of Military Stores and take his receipt for the same. The Commissary is to cause the rifles &c. to be carefully boxed up and is not to deliver any of them without an order from the Commander in Chief. Muskets are to be drawn for the men in lieu of the rifles. The General cannot dissolve this corps without offering his particular thanks to the officers and soldiers remaining in it for their long, faithful and important services. [More]
