GRE Round Up for Mar. 22

There's some good stuff being turned out. I hope you're availing yourself of it, and importantly, sharing these links via emails, on blogs and forums, with your local newspaper editor, etc.

A common complaint is media bias and absence of representation for "our side."

These people work hard to change that and ask for nothing from those of us their labors serve other than to help spread the word. I hope no one thinks that's too much to ask.

Here are their latest offerings:

Steve D. Jones/Fort Smith:
Kurt Hofmann/St. Louis:
You're doing that, right?

A Sad Observation

A veteran Sunbury police officer allegedly shot and killed his wife early Saturday morning outside their Catawissa Avenue home before shooting himself in the head. [More]
As long as enemies of freedom exploit it to deprive us of our rights, it needs to be said, even if the circumstances illustrating the point are horrible: The badge doesn't make them any safer or more trustworthy than We the People.

Dual Purpose

Military experts in India have developed the new crowd control grenade...[More]
But wait:
"The chilli grenade is a non-toxic weapon and when used would force a terrorist to come out of his hideout.
So what's it designed to be deployed against: crowds or terrorists?

Because what kind of government would consider organized groups of citizens opposed to its policies to be one and the same?

We're the Only Ones Planting Enough

Former Officer Planted Drugs, 185 Cases Dropped...

...Kevin Parry, who has resigned from the department, admitted he planted drugs on suspects, conducted illegal searches, threatened additional charges for suspects who refused to cooperate and stole drugs and money from suspects. [
More]
Just one bad apple...I'm sure this isn't something that's ever come up before in Camden...

Who Will Watch the Watch Lists?

Former NYPD cop Miguel Rodriguez flagged as terrorist after arrest during undercover role in 1977 [More]
Say, I've got a swell idea...why don't we take those lists and use them to gut the Second Amendment?

Actually, it's not really my idea...

If Only...

Authorities said Epstein, 19, was the shooter from the party...Epstein had been previously arrested for possession of a firearm, possession of crack cocaine and disorderly conduct. [More]
If only they had infringed more on you and me, this would never have happened.

I mean, that's what the antis would have to believe...

We're the Only Ones Evident Enough

Nearly 200 guns, narcotics and rape kits rotting in an unplugged refrigerator were left behind by a police department that shut down two years ago. [More]
Yep, just sit back, relax and trust the "Only Ones."

They'll take care of things.

And how.

A Matter of Public Safety

On Monday, the Department of Public Safety will start going after 255 gun owners in the CNMI who have expired firearms permits. [More]
I suppose it's a lot safer for the Department than going after those who never bothered asking for permission in the first place...

Words of Explanation

Give me the words to explain this. [More]
OK--you're a reason-impaired moron ruled by ignorance and prejudice. If only we can make "the streets" even more "gun free," this 15 shootings in one night crap will have to stop! And who better to look to for making that happen than Snuffy and Tim-Tom?

One thing did ring true:
I needed some help myself.
Admission is the first step--assuming you mean it. Which, based on the rest of your weepy rant, you must not. So continue ripping out your hair Carol Marin. But you might want to wash your hands first, so you don't get blood in it.

Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.

A History of Violence

“For the most part, we don’t see a lot of problems coming in, but typically if we have applicants who have a history of violence with weapons, sexual offenders, that sort of thing, we don’t accept the application.” [More]
So are we talking about convicted violent felons you're not hiring--or something more?

Get the Picture?

Secret Service members, alarmed by the rash of audience members who reached for cellphones and digital cameras to photograph the First Gals, warned at intermission that they would confiscate anyone who tried to take anymore pictures. [More]
So Her Royal Highness shows up in a public place and all of a sudden that's an imposition on everybody else. Does this mean if I were doing a sketch instead of taking a photograph, they could confiscate my pad and pencil?

I'm sure her SS detail can point to where they get the authority to do this...from here.

As far as I'm concerned, if she doesn't want to pay the price of fame, she can go back to being obscure.

Yeah, I like that solution.

Louisiana Bill Provides for Guns in State Parks

As such, it hasn't gone through the "usual route" of initiative by the "gun lobby." That means we need to get the gun rights groups on board to support this in its early stages, and to help ensure that the provisions are optimal. So by all means, contact the gun groups you belong to. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at an initiative to lead the leaders.

This Day in History: March 22

Steuben's impressive display with the guards convinced Washington to implement the Baron's program. In General Orders dated March 22, 1778, Washington suspended all training in maneuver until Steuben was prepared to introduce his new system to the army. [More]
