Mayors and Rabbis and Crooks, Oh My!

"New Jersey's corruption problem is one of the worst, if not the worst, in the nation," said Ed Kahrer, who heads the FBI's white collar and public corruption investigation division. "Corruption is a cancer that is destroying the core values of this state." [More]
"Core values of the state..."

Good one!

Yeah, this is certainly representative of a government I'd want dictating what they trust us with--right? Although I can see why they'd want to.

Audience member: "Would you get rid of the Constitution for Shariah, yes or no?"

Imam: "Over the Muslim world? Yes, it would be gone."

Audience Member: And so if the United States was a Muslim world, the Constitution would be gone?"

Imam: "If the United States was in the Muslim world, the Muslims who are here would be calling and happy to see the Shariah applied, yes we would."

Audience Member: "And the Constitution gone. That's all."

Imam: "Yes, as Muslims they would be long gone." [More]

We're the Only Ones Suspended Enough

An Oklahoma trooper accused of using excessive force while stopping and arresting a paramedic will receive a five-day suspension without pay for his actions...[More]
Why such a light response?
An internal investigation concluded that Trooper Daniel Martin was justified in stopping and arresting paramedic Maurice White during a traffic stop.
Of course he was.

I Don't Know Nothin' 'bout Birthin' Babies

I've been asked by some readers to address the Obama birth controversy.

I've been advised by other readers not to touch it lest I be labeled. As if I'm not already.

I'm not one to buy into what politicians and "Authorized Journalists" have to say about things. But here's why I've been relatively quiet on this. I have my own conspiracy...I can't call it a "theory," it's more like a nagging suspicion.

It's that he can prove he was born here, but it serves his purposes for now to get his political enemies on board with the cover-up story. Perhaps he can even get some high profile politicians to bite. Then, when he thinks the net is as full as it's going to get, he can discredit them and make them all objects of public ridicule.

Which is why I suspect the Republicans won't touch it. Case in point, Tom Coburn, who has been on new shows assuring people he knows Obama is American-born, although why he is so certain is left unsaid.

I admit I have absolutely no proof on this, so I don't promote it because I can't say I truly believe it myself.

Thing is, those discrediting the "birthers" (which is itself a pejorative term) offer only ridicule. This came up yesterday on CNN, and the moderator and both his guests did their share of eye-rolling and casting aspersions on motives.

Telling your audience on a supposed news panel that people are kooks just because you say so while making fun of them is hardly a compelling argument. Whenever someone so transparently resorts to that, it makes their motives suspect--especially since it's the only response they offer.

The fact is, this could all be cleared up immediately if Obama would order the release of his original and actual birth certificate, not the computerized printout offered as proof.

If you're interested in following this story, my suggestion is to consult WorldNetDaily, which has done the bulk of the reporting and amassed quite an archive.

And that's about all I'll have to say on this matter unless something that changes the current standoff between accusations and stonewalling happens.

Why, Indeed?

"Why would he take any student mental health records to his home at any time, and why that student?" [More]
I dunno.

We're the Only Ones "For the Children" Enough

A sheriff's deputy zapped three children with a stun gun at an Illinois emergency youth shelter, threatening to sodomize one of them before choking a fourth child and throwing her in a closet, according to a federal civil-rights lawsuit. [More]
But wait:
No charges have been filed in the case. Sheriff Roger Mulch, who also is named in the lawsuit, said Monday the deputies followed protocol and did "nothing out of the ordinary."
Of course they did. And of course they didn't.

Are Those Against Nationwide Concealed Carry for States' Rights?

So if their laws work for gun control, states have rights. But if state laws work against gun control, federal bans are in order--from Chicago to Cheyenne. Just moderate the message in accordance with political needs. Supporters in the media will help cover tracks. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column shows so-called "states' rights" are "respected" only when they serve the purpose of infringing on individual liberty. It includes an NPR audio clip of Barack OBama endorsing a nationwide federal concealed carry ban, and shows how his record has been sanitized by the media over time for political advantage.
