Simply Put Questions for NRA About Proposed CA Magazine Ban

Simply put, SB776 would mandate the registration of all magazines capable of holding more than ten rounds of ammunition. The possession of unregistered magazines would be a crime and punishable up to a year in prison. [More]
Equally simply put, I have two questions:

If it passes, will this be another one of those existing/on the books gun laws you'll recommend enforcing?

And will you sponsor another registration session like you did for the firearms these magazine are made for?

Appropriate Charges

On the second anniversary Thursday of the mass killings at Virginia Tech University, the families of two slain students sued the state, the school and its counseling center, several top university officials and a local mental health agency, claiming gross negligence...

Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker, who is named as a defendant along with Steger, would only confirm the lawsuits had been filed.
Yeah, I'd say when it comes to Hincker, "gross" and "negligent" are a pretty good start. But if this does nothing to force the dumping of all Cho Empowerment Zone policies, the plaintiff's won't be doing a thing to prevent other families from suffering future losses.

Super "Authorized Journalists"

Kind of like "Only One/Authorized Journalists"...[More]

You know, licensed "Authorized Journalists."

Hey, how else are you gonna maintain a free press...?

Does Richard Lugar Work at Being a RINO Idiot...

...or do you think it comes naturally?
Now add Republican Senator Richard Lugar to the list of politicians cited the bogus 90% number. [More]
It doesn't surprise me.

He doesn't understand the First Amendment either.

Where do these nitwits come from, and why do so many stupid and uniformed voters keep returning them to the trough?

Watch this Video

Watch it now.

No doubt just a few bad apples. Plus if he'd have done what they asked, he'd have never gotten in trouble.

Right?

I know that checkpoint--I've driven through it many times. The road to Yuma has long stretches of mountains and desert where you're literally on your own, miles and miles away from any help. It's a hell of a thing to make a man choose between his family's safety and the potential loss of his freedom.

I'm lucky I didn't get what I deserved. I'm sure if I had, there'd be no shortage of critics saying I made us all look bad.

But back to the video: I must point out we only have one side. I must also point out that if what he says is an accurate representation of what happened, any beasts who would do this to a citizen are domestic enemies.

An Idea Whose Time Has Returned

Debtor's prisons. [More]

But only if you owe the government, of course.

But see, there are always weasel words to distract the weak-minded:
Florida officials get around this by claiming the defendants are going to jail not for their debts but for violating a court order.
See, it's not what it looks like if we call it something else. Don't think of it as rape, think of it as government employee gratification.

Would that logic be more like "Don't call me Norman" or "Who's interferin'?"

We're the Only Ones Using the Force Enough

Eight police officers serving with Scotland's largest force listed their official religion as Jedi in voluntary diversity forms, it has emerged. [More]
So does that make these "Only Ones" Imperial Storm Troopers?

I know you may find my lack of faith disturbing, but look where we're talking about. Can there be a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than one where the good citizens are forcibly disarmed?

How'd You Like a Smoldering Malpractice Suit?

My (rather conservative) British father-in-law was visiting recently around the time that four Oakland police officers were killed by gunfire. Watching the news coverage, he said to me, "I just don't understand America's obsession with guns." I considered telling him about the Wild West of yesteryear and John Wayne and Clint Eastwood and of the perceived sanctity of the Second Amendment. But, then I thought about it as a father and as a physician and replied simply, "I don't either."
I left this comment here:
Hey, Doc--I've been getting this whining noise under the hood of my car followed by a series of muffled thumps. The engine light comes on after about 5 minutes and the temperature gauge needle pegs into the upper range.

What do you think it is?

What? That's outside your area of expertise, certification, training...?

You have credentials on giving out advice on guns, right? So if a patient follows your advice and disarms, and then gets hurt or killed, your malpractice insurance will cover you because you did everything according to your training, right?

And you'll sign a qualification and liability form attesting to this?

Doc...?

"You're Despicable!"

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) blasted "tea party" protests yesterday, labeling the activities "despicable" and shameful." [More]
Which is no doubt why she wants us disarmed.

Despicable? Tell that to her felon swindler husband. You know, the one who helped run "Camp Obama". Just more of the corrupt Chicago political machine at work.

I'd like to see everyone take a minute to contact this...thing...and don't even write a message--just send her this link.

Obama Using Treaties with Foreign Powers to Enact Domestic 'Gun Control'

If there's one thing we've learned from the gun grabbers, it's they're like salivating weasels trying to get into a chicken coop. If one entry is blocked, they'll try to nose out another. [More]

Today's Gun Rights Examiner column explores the danger international treaties crafted by enemies foreign and domestic pose. It's a longer article than usual because there are three different fronts we're being assaulted on, and we need to know what they are.

Also read what the Liberty Belles have to say about the government's assessment of "rightwing extremists," learn about a fun gun event in Ohio, and get the latest commentary from my fellow GREs.

I do hope you agree this is something gun owners need to know about, and are passing these column links along...?

This Day in History: April 17

That the Enemy are upon the point of opening the Campaign can scarce admit of a doubt—where, or in what manner, is yet uncertain; it behooves us however to be as well prepard as possible, & keep every thing in such order as to move at an hours warning—one step towards this is, to have the number of our Posts reduced—the Men drawn a little more compactly together—and Scouts to supply the places of Stationary Guards, along the Enemys Lines—By this means we shall have it more in our power to move quick; shall be less liable to surprizes; and can give aid much quicker than in cases where Men upon any alarm, or Movement of the Enemy are to be assembled from several different Posts, at a distance from each other.
